My doctor ordered a celiac panel blood test for me. I was negative on most of the panel except for Gliadin IgG.
What does this mean? The doctor was a little confused by the results and said that it was atypical.
Does anybody have any information about this? Does this mean I need to cut out gluten? I don't have GI problems, but do have several skin disorders.

Celiac disease, or Gluten enteropathy, is fairly common. It means you basically are allergic to the gluten in wheat products. The small intestine gets inflammed, somtimes causing diarrhea, gas, belching, bloating, anemia and general abdominal distress. If your celiac panel is abnormal, the next test might be an endoscopy, with biopsy of the small intestinal tissue. It will show the blunting of the small intestine if you do have Celiac Disease. Aviodance of gluten is advised. The rashes and joint aches can go along with the disease process.
