How many tubes of blood should be drawn for a lab slip that orders "Celiac comprehensive?"

Only a small amount of blood is required for testing and only 1 vial should be required . the reason that sometimes more than 1 vial is taken is because the Dr. has ordered a number of different tests and it is easier to take 1 vial per test. You may have to have your blood checked again depending on the first results etc.
This all depends on where the test will be performed and by what method. Some laboratories require more specimen becuase of the method of testing. But normally for a Celiac screen it is 2-4 mls of serum…..so say 2 tubes to be on the safe side.
